Getting Started

Welcome to SurfPad! This guide will help you get the most out of your new browser.

First Launch

When you first open SurfPad, you'll see the sidebar on the left and your first Space called "Personal". The sidebar contains your tabs, favorites, and navigation controls.

Touch & Keyboard

SurfPad works great with touch only or with a keyboard attached. Throughout this guide:

  • Tap = Touch the screen (or click with trackpad/mouse)
  • Long-press = Touch and hold for context menus
  • Swipe = Slide your finger across the screen
  • Drag = Touch, hold, and move to reorder items
  • Keyboard shortcuts = Optional but faster if you have a keyboard

Every feature can be used with touch alone. Keyboard shortcuts are shown as a bonus for power users.

Key Concepts

  • Spaces - Separate workspaces for different contexts (work, personal, projects)
  • Command Bar - Quick access to everything (tap URL bar or press Cmd+K)
  • Favorites - Quick access grid at the top of the sidebar

Spaces

Spaces let you organize your browsing into separate contexts. Each Space has its own tabs, folders, and color theme.

    2. Tap the "+" button to create a new Space
    3. Choose a name, color, and icon for your Space
    4. Tap "Create" to finish
