Last updated: February 2025
Our Privacy Commitment
SurfPad is designed with privacy as its foundation. We believe your browsing history, bookmarks, and personal data are yours alone, and we've built SurfPad to ensure they stay private.
In simple terms: We don't collect, store, transmit, or analyze any of your personal data, browsing history, or usage patterns.
What We Don't Do
No Analytics or Tracking
We don't use any analytics services, tracking pixels, or telemetry to monitor how you use SurfPad.
No Browsing Data Collection
We don't collect your browsing history, bookmarks, tabs, or any data about the websites you visit.
No Data Transmission
SurfPad doesn't send any of your data to external servers. Everything stays on your device.
No Third-Party Integrations
We don't integrate with analytics platforms, advertising networks, or data brokers.
What Data Stays Local
SurfPad stores the following information locally on your iPad to provide its functionality:
Browsing Data
Your tabs, spaces, browsing history, bookmarks, favorites, and downloaded files are stored locally on your device.
App Settings
Your preferences including search engine, ad blocker level, theme, accent color, and other customizations.
Site Permissions
Per-site settings for camera, microphone, location, and other permissions you've granted.
Ad Blocker Whitelist
Sites you've chosen to allow ads on are stored locally in your preferences.
Important:
All this data is stored exclusively on your iPad using iOS/iPadOS secure storage (SwiftData and UserDefaults). It never leaves your device and cannot be accessed by us or any third parties.
Built-in Ad Blocker
SurfPad includes a built-in ad blocker that works entirely on your device:
Local Filter Lists
The ad blocker uses filter lists that are bundled with the app. No external requests are made to fetch or update filters.
No Blocking Reports
We don't collect any data about what ads are blocked or which sites you visit. The blocking happens entirely on-device.
Incognito Mode
SurfPad offers an incognito browsing mode for enhanced privacy:
Third-Party Websites
When you browse the web using SurfPad, websites you visit may collect their own data:
Note:
SurfPad itself never shares your data with websites. Any data websites collect is through standard web browser mechanisms (cookies, JavaScript, etc.), not through SurfPad.
